COTU-(K) Secretary General Addresses the press following the sudden resignation of NSSF Chairman.
COTU-(K) Secretary General Bro. Francis Atwoli Addressed a press conference this morning at Solidarity Building following the sudden resignation of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Board of Trustees Chairman. While praising Mr. Kariithi Murage Murimi for being a great intellectual Mr. Atwoli said that the Board of Trustees had sighted undue interference into the management and operations of the fund by some shadowy government forces who are determined to loot the fund coffers as the reason that led to his sudden resignation.
Mr. Atwoli stated that the forces have been pushing for the reinstatement of the previously suspended managers led by the suspended Managing Trustee Mr. Richard Langat despite the NSSF Board Audit committee having found them culpable for the loss of Ksh.11 billion that transpired during the tenure of Mr. Langat.
Mr. Atwoli warned that. “The workers of Kenya and their employers will not allow the looting of their hard earned cash”
He promised to remain vigilant and to protect every penny at the fund.
