Daily Highlights; Day 5 of 106th Session of the International Labour Conference
The International Labour Conference approached the halfway mark on Day 5 as the Plenary Session and Committees convened again. A pair of live interviews focused on the topics of Social Protection and Occupational Safety and Health.
The Conference establishes committees to deal with the technical items on its agenda (see below). These committees meet concurrently, and work throughout the Conference, before finalizing their reports, conclusions or any instruments they may have drafted, which are then presented to the plenary for adoption.
The COTU-K Delegation lead by Bro. Francis Atwoli is well represented in all the committees to ensure that issues afflicting not only Kenyan workers bu all workers in Africa are well articulated and captured in the committee reports.
Below are the Committees Meeting at the 106th Session of the International Labour Conference;
Committee on the Application of Standards
Committee for Labour Migration
Committee on Employment and Decent Work for the Transition to Peace
Committee for Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
