Preparations of 2016 Labour Day
May 1st, May Day, Labour Day is an International Workers’ Day, commemorated the historic struggle of working people throughout the world, and is recognized in most countries.
The Organizing Committee under the stewardship of the COTU-(K) Bro. Rajabu Mwondi, MBS is tirelessly working to ensure the day is a success. As it has always been the tradition, the organization of the Day is being done by COTU-K with the partnership of a number other stakeholders. These include TUC, Ministry of Labour, Office of the President and The Police Service.
As workers, we must recognize and commemorate May Day not only for it’s historical significance, but also as a time to organize around issues of vital importance of today for the workers in the course of their work.
