It is with weighed- down souls and grief that we extend our deepest condolences to the family and the entire COTU (K) fraternity for the passing of our treasurer general and the General Secretary for the Kenya Union of Domestic Hotels,Educational Institutions,Hospitals and Allied workers (KUDHEIHA), Bro Albert Njeru Obed on 29th August 2026, after a short illness.The passing of Bro. Albert Njeru Obed, a distinguished and dedicated trade unionist has left a void that will resonate throughout our nation.

Albert Njeru’s legacy is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the cause of trade unionism.Under his guidance, KUDHEIHA flourished solidifying it’s place as one of the most robust unions in our nation. His dedication and leadership will forever be etched in the memories of those who had the privilege of standing alongside him. His boundless enthusiasm for workers rights and unyielding resolve to unify the labor force have indelibly marked Kenya’s labor movement.

Our thoughts and prayers extend to Albert Njeru’s family friends and colleagues in these trying moments. May the Almighty give you the strength to navigate this devastating loss and the courage to continue his legacy. His steadfastness vision, and passion will continue to serve as inspiration as we work to honor his memory.
