COTU-K AT ELRASE IV

COTU-K was pleased to participate in the 4th Employment and Labour Relations Annual Symposium and Exhibition (ELRASE IV), held at Strathmore University, Nairobi, from 16–18 September 2026, under the theme “Labour Migration and Access to Justice.”

Representing COTU-K, Deputy Secretary General Bro. Benson Okwaro emphasized that migration for employment must not compromise workers’ dignity, rights, or access to justice. He called for stronger judicial protection for migrant workers and urged genuine tripartite participation in the development of labour migration policies. He also highlighted the need to address exploitation at the recruitment stage and reaffirmed COTU-K’s commitment to supporting workers throughout the entire migration process.
